While this is not ideal for fans of the franchise, the supernatural, found footage, or horror in general, it is important to point out that the streamer has a massive amount of exceptional options in these departments. Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is not on Netflix, and it does not seem like that will change anytime soon. Subscribers wondering if they can experience the seventh installment in the found footage film series are in for a devilish surprise. Is Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin on Netflix? They are definitely taking things up a few notches this time around, and this will most assuredly be the biggest entry in the Blumhouse franchise to date. This time, it follows a young woman who uncovers a horrifying truth about her past while documenting her efforts to learn about what happened to her mother, who vanished years ago. The seventh film in the series called Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is acting as a reboot. So it makes sense that this franchise would not stay dead for long. ![]() Altogether the first six Paranormal Activity films cost $28 million to make and raked in over $400 million, making it one of the most successful found footage horror movie franchises out there. The first Paranormal Activity terrified audiences in theaters and was a massive success, grossing over $193 million on a budget of just $15,000. The Paranormal Activity has resumed, and many subscribers are eager to know if Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is available on Netflix. This feels like a random found footage film that needed a selling point, and so chucked 'Paranormal Activity' in front of its title. This wasn't the storyline to do it with though. I so desperately wanted to like this movie, with the hope that it would reignite a series that I love. This film completely forgets that at the end. What we don't see is always scarier than what we do. This film goes so hard and in your face that it can't possible be scary. I feel like I'm mentioning it a lot in films lately, but it needs to be remembered that less is more. They were very likeable and people I could get onside with. ![]() The other thing I liked were the main three characters. Lovecraft once said, 'The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is Fear of the Unknown. It was actually building up quite nicely for a while there until it decided to go well off the rails at the end. Paranormal Activity is the Blair Witch Project of the early twenty-first century, maintaining a large degree of realism and constructing its scares on what the audience doesn't see. They were able to recreate the feel of the series in the first half of the film. A film set on an Amish farm isn't scary in any way, because who of us is ever going to go to one? A couple of things I did like. And the thought of your partner spending hours through the night standing over you and staring was simply terrifying. The original series was so good because it was set in an ordinary looking house like yours or mine. It could be any old found footage film - and not a very good one at that. ![]() It has no connection to the previous films and it has nothing that demands it be a 'Paranormal Activity' movie. The only problem is that it is a part of the series in name only. Now, years later, we have another entry in the 'Paranormal Activity' series. They were remarkably consistent right up until the very unfortunate 'Ghost Dimension' which killed the series. 'Paranormal Activity' films used to be the staple of every Halloween.
